Fethiye, just 50km from Dalaman airport is a bustling market town with an outstanding and lively marina with its traditional wooden gullets, motor boats and fishing boats, it offers all you need with a sea front full of restaurants. The market is a fascinating place where all kinds of fish, meat, fruit, fresh vegetables, herbs and dairy products plus the usual local handicrafts are available.
Paspatur square is named after cold water spring ‘Paspatur’which flows into the pool there, in pre refrigerator days, water jugs and melons were placed in this pool for cooling while you chatted in the pubs and coffee houses. Since then restaurants, bars and discotheques have appeared together with shops selling leather goods, gold and silver jewellery, carpets and rugs and are well worth a browse.
