Hurghada
Right at the heart of the Red Sea Riviera at the lower end of the Gulf of Suez is Hurghada with its 40km of seashore and is the aquatic sports centre. Originally a fishing village the waters are ideal for the great variety of sea life which can be also seen through glass bottomed boats, and divers love this place with its crystal clear waters and many old ship wrecks.
All through the year Hurghada enjoys a warm dry desert climate with an ever present breeze, although temperatures in summer are very hot, winter air temperature is 20-25C and water temperature 20-22C.
Hurghada has some of the best beaches in the world and is also well known for its vibrant cosmopolitan atmosphere, with its many fashionable shops, cafes, bars and international restaurants. At night, the clubs come alive with top entertainment to round off your day.
In many ways a region of contrasts, you can enjoy the ways, vibrant colours and flavours of the east or shop for the top western designer gear, alternatively go to the bazaar in old Hurghada where you can find Egypt’s finest, Gold, jewellery, carpets, leather goods, perfumes, spices, the famous Egyptian cotton and so much more.
