South Africa - River View Game Lodge
A beautiful development of 16 lodges in a 20,000 acre private game reserve with stunning views overlooking the river and plains in a malaria free zone, situated in the Zulu and Battlefields region of South Africa.
Facilities being added to this development: Horse trekking will also be added,so you can get a true feel riding around this wonderful Private Game Reserve.
Seasons
Winter:- May – October average temp is 25c and is normally regarded as the best time to view game.
Summer:- November – April average temp 30c beautiful warm time to visit and enjoy this beautiful Game Reserve.
Drakensberg Mountain Range is a World Heritage Site and this is within easy reach of River View.
This development is 20,000 acres (8,000 hectare) in a malaria free zone, positioned 3 ½ hours from Johannesberg and 2 ½ hours from Durban and within easy range of the battlefields.
We will have on site a qualified battle fields guide as well as game wardens. In addition to this, it is a glorious spot for bird watching with many varieties of birds. Listed below is just some of the animals in the game reserve but please be aware that this is being added to every week:-
There is a Safari Vehicle available to although you to drive around the beautiful plains, shown in the picture on the right. Standing next to this Safari Touring Vehicle is the General Manager of the Game Reserve, Mark.
Battlefields:
The Battle of Elandslaagte took place in the northwest corner of Nambiti on the 21st October 1899. The names of the Boer Commandoes can still be seen, etched into the rocks below the waterfall. The battle of Elandslaagte is inside River View Game Reserve. You can read more about the battle here.
Rentals:
To give you a guide, a price of £89.50 per person per night was charged for people to stay in the game lodge. This includes breakfast, light lunch and dinner as well as a full day’s safari and you will, as a proud owner of one of these lodges, receive an excellent percentage (TBC).

For £1,995 per person this price includes return economy flights to Johannesberg which includes a three hour transfer to the game lodge, three nights full board accommodation at River View, a full day safari tour of the Game Lodge.
